| What is "Pashmina”? |
| Pashmina is a very fine quality of wool used for making the product which is generally popular as Nepalese/ Cashmere Pashmina. Pashmina is the name given to the wool of the highest grade. Pashmina is the name given to the wool shorn from the underbelly of goats known as Chyangra in Nepal is indigenous to remote and frigid Himalayan regions of Tibet and Central Asia at a height of 12,000 to 14,000 feet or more, a desolate place with little vegetation and extremely cold conditions. Hence, Nature blessed these animals with a very short inner coat of hair, which has been found to be the best natural insulation in the world. The inner coat of hair is called Pashmina. | How is Pashmina blended with silk to make a Pashmina Product of different sizes? |
| Silk yarn (Name of Silk Yarn: Spun Silk Yarn) is woven with Pashmina wool such that the material in warp (length-wise) is silk yarn and the material in weft (breath-wise) is Pashmina. The most common blend contains 70% Pashmina and 30% silk by weight. Along with the 70/30 blend, 100% Pashmina is warmer than the lower quality blends but its texture is less silky. Pashmina is combined with Silk to create a yarn with “durability and luster” and heavenly feel. So, 70/30 is the most popular mix generally preferred world wide. |
